Translation of Credentials

Main content start

Any document in a language other than English* must be translated into English and accompanied by a certification by the translator. The translator need not be a professional translator. The applicant may perform the translation himself/herself.

The certification should ideally appear on the translation itself, with this page stapled on top of the copy of the original document. If this is not practical, staple the certification on top of the translation and make the original document the last page.

Below is a recommended format and text for the certification. If desired, the certification may be notarized, but this is not necessary.

(*This includes documents in French that are submitted by Canadian TN applicants. Documents in Latin do not need to be translated.)

Translator's Certification

I, (name) certify that I am fluent in the English and (language of documents) languages, and that the attached document is an accurate translation of the original document attached entitled
