Immigration Update

On Dec. 16, the United States government announced an expansion of travel restrictions affecting nationals of certain countries, which may impact visa issuance and/or entry to the U.S. for some individuals.

U.S. consulates worldwide may review visa applicants’ social media and online presence as part of the visa adjudication process. As of June 18, 2025  this practice applies to F, M, and J visa applicants and will expand to H-1B and H-4 visa applicants beginning December 15, 2025.

We would like to share some important updates regarding the upcoming Winter Break and recent changes to federal immigration policy.

On September 6, 2025, the U.S. Department of State announced that third (3rd) country visa processing will no longer be allowed, and all visa applicants must return to their home country or country of residence to apply for visa stamps.

The U.S. Department of State announced on June 18 that embassies and consulates will resume scheduling F, M, and J nonimmigrant visa applications soon and applicants should check the relevant embassy or consulate website for appointment availability.
