Tax Season Is Coming!

Check or Update Your Mailing Address in Axess
Stanford University is preparing tax documents to send to students. It is imperative that you make sure your mailing address in Axess is a U.S. address and that it is a current address that can receive mail. Log into your Axess account now and confirm that you have an updated U.S. mailing address.

Stanford University Annual Tax Form Distribution
Stanford University mails the 1099, W-2 and other tax forms to individuals at the beginning of every calendar year. The link above provides specific dates by which each form must be mailed.

General tax information

Taxes are very confusing for everyone, but can be especially confusing for international students. International student advisors are not tax professionals and cannot answer tax questions. A good place to start is our General tax information webpage. On this page you'll learn what status to file your taxes under, what documents you need and when to expect to receive them, as well as the need for a social security number or ITIN.

Sprintax for 2022 tax year will be available soon

Sprintax is a tax return preparation software program designed primarily for Nonresident Alien students, scholars, trainees, researchers and other educational immigration statuses to prepare a U.S federal and state income tax return and all other necessary statements. It is intended exclusively for your individual use. You are not required to use Sprintax to prepare your U.S. Federal and state income tax return.
